COVID-19 Coronavirus

The Grand Rapids Public Museum will be temporarily closed until further notice in alignment with the Governor’s Executive Order.

Our priority is to protect and support our visitors, staff, and volunteers. We continue to think of you and our entire community during this unprecedented time. Through the generous community spirit we have, we know we will all emerge from this crisis together.

The Museum remains committed to delivering experiences through our GRPM at Home initiative, delivering meaningful content and ways for virtual visitors of all ages to continue to connect digitally with Museum educational content. You can even check in on our two live Lake Sturgeon in the Grand Fish, Grand River exhibit!

Like many cultural institutions, we depend on having people visit our public spaces every day. While we are closed, we are not earning revenue from admission, parking, event/wedding rentals, or cafe and gift shop sales, which help us operate and fulfill our mission of sparking curiosity through our exhibits and programs each day.

If you learn something new from our virtual content or get a moment of joy out of what we’re sharing, we are grateful for any donation amount you can contribute.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during these challenging times, and for your continued support of the Grand Rapids Public Museum. We look forward to soon announcing when we’ll be able to welcome our staff and visitors back to the Museum.
