Join us as we celebrate 100 years of the Women’s City Club Grand Rapids.
Hear from author and group historian Carol R. Dodge and writer Marcia Woods about the rich history of this group and its influence in Grand Rapids. Each decade of history will feature well-known tunes from that time period played by pianist Rebecca Sneller. Additionally, the club will have a display of artifacts highlighting their 100 years of club activities and memberships. Lite refreshments and a cash bar will be available. A book signing of “Our First One Hundred Years” will occur directly after the program. Carol R. Dodge is Historian for the Women’s City Club and the Sweet House Foundation and is the author of a new book on the Civil War era home built by Martin Sweet on Fulton Street East. Member Marcia Woods had edited the annual anthology of the Peninsula Writers for the last twelve years, and also edits the monthly newsletter, the Bulletin, of the Women’s City Club.
