This blockbuster exhibition from the Australian Museum brings together the history, science, and cultural significance of a fascinating class of fierce fish. Explore 100 specimens and artifacts and 9 breathtaking, life-sized, scientifically accurate models of shark species, from the iconic great white shark to the extinct 270-million-year-old buzzsaw shark.Â
Sharks have survived in the world’s oceans for over 450 million years through five global mass extinctions. What makes these creatures so incredibly resilient, and what challenges do they face today in the age of industry? The fate of sharks is in human hands. How will we respond?

The chase is on! Some sharks from the Museum are gone! They’ve swum to libraries all around. In Grand Rapids, they must be found. The Public Museum and Library, too, are teaming up. They’re counting on you! Grab a brochure or download online, then follow the clues and start the climb! Search each branch, both near and far. Can you find where the sharks now are?
Follow the clues to find every Public Library location and write down the species of each shark! Bring your completed hunt back to the GRPM for a special prize!
