Event Details

Learn about space exploration and STEAM careers as you enjoy hands-on activities and demonstrations from a variety of partner booths and exhibit tables. Here are some of the activities you can expect at the Museum!

  • Hear from a real-life astronaut: Join John Herrington, NASA astronaut and space pioneer, as he shares his incredible journey at 11 a.m. in the Meijer Theater. Free with admission and registration: Register now!

  • Gaze through telescopes

  • Create your very own planispheres to unlock the mysteries of the night sky.

  • Aim for the stars by launching foam rockets

  • Enjoy the magic of a stellar show in the Chaffee Planetarium

  • Aspiring astronauts will have the chance to earn a prize for taking part in an astronaut training mission at stations around the Museum

The GRPM will open late at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 10 for the Amway Riverbank Run.

Planetarium Closure Notice

The Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium is closed June 8 through June 15 for the most significant systems upgrade made to our Planetarium in 10 years!

Come back after June 15 to see crisper, cleaner, and more vibrant visuals, and a system capable of showcasing parts of the universe we weren’t able to display before!

Closure Notice

The GRPM will be closed on Thursday, September 12, 2024 for an event. We will re-open on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 9 a.m. 

Late Opening Notice.

On Saturday, May 11, the Museum will open at 12 p.m. due to road closures for the Amway River Bank Run.

Early Closure Notice.

The Museum will close at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1 for Museum Adventure After Dark. Tickets are still available!
